Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Haridwar

  • Arrive at Haridwar: Start your Char Dham Yatra by reaching Haridwar, which is the gateway to the Char Dham circuit.
  • Evening Ganga Aarti: In the evening, experience the Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri. It’s a mesmerizing experience with chants and divine rituals.

Day 2: Haridwar to Yamunotri (Approx. 6-7 hours by road)

  • Travel to Yamunotri: After breakfast, head to Yamunotri, which is approximately 6-7 hours from Haridwar by road. You can also take a drive to Janki Chatti or Hanuman Chatti, the last motorable point, and then trek the remaining 5 km to Yamunotri.
  • Yamunotri Temple: On reaching Yamunotri, visit the Yamunotri Temple, where Goddess Yamuna is worshipped. Pilgrims usually take a dip in the Yamunotri Tapt Kund (hot springs) before proceeding to the temple.
  • Overnight Stay: Stay in Yamunotri or a nearby town like Janki Chatti.

Day 3: Yamunotri to Gangotri (Approx. 7-8 hours by road)

  • Gangotri Temple: After reaching Gangotri, visit the Gangotri Temple, dedicated to Goddess Ganga. Pilgrims often take a dip in the holy Bhagirathi River near the temple.
  • Overnight Stay: Stay overnight in Gangotri or a nearby guesthouse.

Day 4: Gangotri to Uttarkashi (Approx. 2-3 hours by road)

  • Travel to Uttarkashi: After visiting Gangotri, you can travel to Uttarkashi (2-3 hours by road), a major town on the banks of the Bhagirathi River.
  • Kashi Vishwanath Temple: You may visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Uttarkashi, dedicated to Lord Shiva, before resting for the night.
  • Overnight Stay: Stay overnight in Uttarkashi.

Day 5: Uttarkashi to Kedarnath (Approx. 6-7 hours by road)

  • Travel to Gaurikund: After breakfast, travel to Gaurikund, the base for the Kedarnath trek, which is around 6-7 hours by road.
  • Trek to Kedarnath: From Gaurikund, you will need to trek approximately 16 km to reach Kedarnath. There are options to hire ponies or palkis (palanquins) for the trek.
  • Kedarnath Temple: Upon reaching Kedarnath, visit the Kedarnath Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva.
  • Overnight Stay: Stay overnight in Kedarnath at one of the many camps or guesthouses.

Day 6: Kedarnath to Guptkashi (Trek back + Drive)

Trek Back to Gaurikund: After visiting the Kedarnath Temple, trek back to Gaurikund. Drive to Guptkashi: Once you’re back at Gaurikund, drive to Guptkashi (approx. 2-3 hours). Overnight Stay: Stay overnight in Guptkashi.

Day 7: Guptkashi to Badrinath (Approx. 8-9 hours by road)

Travel to Badrinath: After breakfast, head to Badrinath, which is approximately 8-9 hours by road. The drive offers scenic views of the Himalayan landscapes. Badrinath Temple: Upon reaching Badrinath, visit the Badrinath Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple is situated at an altitude of 3,133 meters, making it an awe-inspiring site. Overnight Stay: Stay overnight in Badrinath.
